How can we make the customer experience better?

grilling_charcoal_basic75We grilled our clients, our friends, and our family on what their ideal real estate experience would be. We asked them about what they like (things like the ability to search homes on their own time and agents who take the time to listen), we asked them about what they don’t like (things like the inability to get out of a listing agreement if they are unhappy and poor communication) and we incorporated all the feedback into the models for our brokerage.

We are never satisfied with the status quo. We do not believe there is only one way to do things and we do not believe we should do things a certain way just because that’s the way it’s always been done. The world has changed dramatically in the last 10 years yet most real estate companies still operate exactly the same way now as they did years ago. Companies are charging ‘admin fees’ on top of outdated comission schedules, offices are too big and too expensive, and your experience is dictated by company policy rather than your individual situation.

Many clients have asked us the history behind our name, so here it is. Foster Spahr combines the family names that serve as the foundation for the principals, values, and drive behind our founder, Dan Spahr.

From our founder Dan Spahr:
Both my father and my father-in-law had a major impact in my education and passion surrounding real estate. I was introduced to real estate at an early age by my father, Tim Spahr, who was a successful real estate agent in his own right. I was able to witness first-hand the values and rewards of hard work and dedication. My father-in-law, Pete Foster, is a successful real estate investor and helped introduce me to the benefits and opportunities that exist if you are willing to put in the energy and take calculated risks. I wanted to pay homage to this foundation by incorporated the family names into the name of our organization. The support we receive from those closest to us is one of the biggest contributors to our success.
